I have some iformation on John Standifer born 1830, not much, His father was William Standifer JR born 1788 to William Standifer Sr. and Jemima Jones they where living in North Carolina in 1788 and moved to VA. between 1788-1790. William Sr. married Jemima, on June 24, 1779. William Jr. married a Mary Gilbert in 1810,her parents are Nancy Gilbert and Joseph Hirman Gilbert, married May 8, 1784 in Shenendoah Co. VA William and Mary children are Joseph born 1811,died March 29, 1887 william born 1822,Mary died around 1826, and William JR. married a Polly ? around the late 1820,s They had three children Samuel born 1840, Joab born 1842, and Reuben my great grandfather born 1848. William and Mary where members of Mulberry Gap Church Hancock Co.
