Do you know when and where in TX, William Riley Standefer died? If he lived past about 1903, he might show up in Texas state wide death index. You wouldn't need to know date and county, as whole state is lumped together alphabetically, up to about 1940. His death certificate might give parents names. Info only as good as knowledge of informant, though. With exact death date you could look for an obituary, too. If he was prominent, even locally, he might have a "write up" in the local newspaper.
