Hi Ann,

Sorry, Ann, but Mary Jane is new to me. Really 1840 is the close of my Standing interest. I have come across a heavy nest of Standings in the Brighton area (including Henfield) - and there are some near Petworth.
I could not find your Mary Jane on 1881 Census under either Standing or Webber.
