Karen- Not sure what you meant by anyone reseraching Standings in the South East - my guess is you mean South East England. For what it's worth, I am researching Standings in the southeastern U.S. - Edward Standing received a land grant in Chowan County (later Perquimans County), North Carolina in 1712 and died in 1718. Wife Sarah, children Samuel, Edward, William, Sarah and John. Samuel also married a Sarah; he died in 1752. Please let me know if you have any Standing lines that emigrated to North Carolina in the early 18th century. I don't know what part of England they came from, but I know that other families in Perquimans migrated there from Kent.
