i am desperately trying to seek Standens from Sussex at the turn of the century. All i know is that a female Standen married a man named Bateman and had seven children (frederick wilfred era samuel, ernest, stanley, sidney, frank, mabel and peter), the only date that i know is the birth of frederick wilfred era samuel, which was 1903, can anyone help me? does anyone know the origin of the name "era" which from my research appears to be a female name, are there any era standens?
