In researching the Cox family of Mulgoa NSW I have come across a Richard Joseph Landridge Standish of Glin Lodge Tralee Ireland who had a child Millicent Anne Standish (born circa 1832) who then married Edward King Cox on 19 May 1855 in Tralee Co Kerry ireland (from Pioneer Families of Australia Old edition) .. the8 Cox children were all born in Australia - Mulgoa, Rawden and Fernhill ...but one of their children (Edward Standish Cox b.31 jan 1856) named his son Myles Standish Cox (b.1891) which suggests some family connection with the(in)famous Myles Standish
There was also a Fredrick Charles Standish who was appointed Chief Commissioner of the Victorian(Aust)Police in 1858 .. I cannot find if these are connected to each other or whether they are from the same family that also migrated from Ireland to Canada in 1818.
I suppose this poses more questions than answers!
