I came across this earlier today at the following website:

http://home.earthlink.net/~jerifultz/probate2.htm

(probate records of Lawrence County, Arkansas)

135. STANLY, William, deceased. Bond of Elizabeth STANLY, widow and administratrix, December 10, 1816. Securities: Michael DOYLE, Luke HALSONBECK. State of widow: "her deceased husband, William STANLY, died leaving one female heir called Anna Ritta."

Among the relatives I've been researching is a John Stanley/Standley/Standlee who was one of the early settlers in the area of Cadron, Arkansas. His sons and a son in law explored the area after the New Madrid earthquake of 1811, and he established residence there a few years later (1814 or 1816, I'd have to check my notes). This John died about 1820.

He had a son William, but William was still alive in 1827 and was the executor of the estate of his father John, as well as his brother John (Jr.).

Is this possible a brother to John? Maybe there's another Stanly/Standley/Standly/Standlee famly that was there that isn't on my radar. Does this person fit for anyone else?
