To help clarify my previous message: to the best of our knowledge his complete name was Jeremiah R. Stannard. Probably born circa 1799 in New Hampshire or one of the other New England states. Died circa 1883. We know he was 84 at time of death. Married Dollie Davis, born circa 1809 and died at age of 74. It appears Jeremiah and Dollie resided in the town of Boston, county of Ionia, Michigan.
At least one child: William Nicholas,b.1837, d.1914. Jeremiah is listed in the 1860 census in Roll 546 along with Gates, male, age 3; Hannah E, age 25; joy, male, age 5; Sophia, age 62, birthplace N.H.; Chester, age 53; and Wm, age 17, birthplace Michigan. I hope this helps someone out there help me.
