I am connected to several of the people you mention in your posting. I was confused by your message - couldn't figure out who was your grandfather and who was his cousin.
I have been collecting as many descendants of Claudius Stannard as I can find. Claudius was born in Suffield, CT, in 1764, moved with his family to New Marlborough, MA about 1770-1 where his father John died. Claudius served in the Rev. War from MA and VT; married Elizabeth ____ probably about 1790 probably in CT or MA (see his Rev. War Pension application file). Claudius moved to Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio, about 1816 after selling his farm in Halfmoon, Saratoga Co., NY. He died about 1840. One of his children was William C. Stannard born about 1794 probably in CT or MA; this William C. married Lucy Wooden/Woodin about 1817 in Saratoga Co., NY. He moved to Geauga Co. In 1830 he is at Kirtland, Geauga Co.; in 1840 he is at Munson, Geauga Co.; in 1850 he is at Vinland, Winnebago Co., Wis. He died at Hancock, Waushara Co., Wis. 22 March 1857. His wife and one of his sons are in Hancock in the 1860 census. Abner Stannard, who married Orpha Webster, is one of the sons of this William C. Abner married Orpha at Geauga Co. on 1 Oct 1840. In the 1850 census Abner is at Manchester, Boone Co., Ill. by 1860 he is at Clayton, Winnebago Co., Wis. Abner's son William Charles Stannard was born 25 Dec 1844 in Ohio; this William C. married Althea J. Brown at Winneconne, Winnebago Co., Wis. on 26 Apr 1866. Jesse H, born 1872, was their son who died in March 1945 in Oshkosh, Winnebago Co., Wis.
Who is Clarence W. Stannard and who were his parents, grandparents? his wife? children?
I am related to Claudius through his granddaughter Jane Stannard, who is the daughter of William C. and Lucy (Wooden) Stannard. Jane married Washington Manuel in Manchester, Boone Co., Illinois in 1847. They settled at Vinland, Winnebago Co., Wis. which is the county where my grandmother was born.
I am willing to share info if you are.
