Joseph Stannard/ William Stannard Probate Records 1727

Has anyone seen the probate records of either Joseph Stannard or William Stannard. I have information that says William's will was probated in the Guildford (CT) Probate District on 22 Sept. 1727 while the inventory was recorded on 1 August 1727. That is the information I have for William, though I'm not sure that probate district sounds right.

I have conflicting information for Joseph. Both sources seem to be talking about the same Joseph Stannard but the information is quite different. One source indicates that he died around 1720 and final administration of his estate is not granted until 25, July 1727 with final distribution taking place on 8 September, 1727 (noting that William was no longer living at this point and that his portion was distributed to his heirs). The other source gives a death date of 1688. His will probated in the New London (CT) District, No. 5033. His inventory was recorded on 20, August 1688.

Can anyone clarify the mystery of the conflicting Joseph information? Has anyone seen either record?
