James Stanphill

Does anyone have information about the ancestors of James Stanphill/Stanfield, born, I think, in Surry County, NC, in 1753. He served as a Sgt. in the Revolution, and his widow, Fanny, got a pension after he died in TN in 1840. I think his family, at some point in the past, came from Yorkshire, but I don't have info beyond James.
