Denice, the name Stanphill originated from Stanfield (Standfield). There are at least two records where the connection has been shown. James Harvey Stanphill ended up in the Ozark Mountains of MO and AR and his name had been changed from Stanfield. He was married numerous times with many, many children. Those of us from that part of the country all seem to descend from James Harvey. Good luck!
