This is what I found on Josiah Stanborough (Stansbury)from England 1630; settled at Salem; granted 100 acres 1628; one of 8 pioneers from Lynn, Mass. with a patent to found a colony on Long Island, later known as Southampton, freeman, 1647. m, 1st. Frances Gransden (Henry) m, 2nd. Alice, widow of Thomas Wheeler.

Josiah, planter, Lynn propr. 1638. Southampton, L.I.Wife Frances, dau. of Henry Cransden or Gransden, of Tunbridge, Eng. sued his widow for patrimony 27(7) 1647 (L)He gave letter of attoroney 15(9)1647 to Hez.Usher of Boston regarding a house at Banbury , Eng. beq. to him by his father William Stanborough. late of Cannons Ashbie, Northhamptonshire.

Josiah Stansborough is my 9th g grandfather,
