Death of Mrs Mary Ann (WEAR) STANSBURY
Grit, Millersburg, Elkhart Co, IN, Thur 19 Oct 1899, p 4:2.

"Mrs Mary Ann STANSBURY died at her home 5 1/2 miles northeast of Millersburg, Sunday, 15 Oct 1899.
Mary Ann WEAR, was born in Stark county, this state, 11 Apr 1826. At the time of her death she was 73 years, 4 months and 4 days of age. In about the year 1847, she was married to James E. W. STANSBURY, who departed this life 13 years ago. Shortly after their marriage, Mr and Mrs STANSBURY removed to Lagrange county and located on a farm near what is known as the Kramer school house, where they lived the remainder of their lives.
To this union 8 children were born, all of whom are living. They are: Mrs Samantha STANSBURY, Ligonier; Mrs Alice GRAFTMILLER, Chicago; Mrs Frances TYLER, Utica, MO; John STANBURY {sic, STANSBURY}, Elkhart; Mrs Nancy BAKER, Lagrange county; Sherman STANSBURY, Chillicothe, MO; Mrs John CHRISMAN and George STANSBURY of Millersburg.
The funeral was held at the Burr Oak church, Tuesday morning, Rev. Royer officiating. Interment in the Eden Chapel cemetery.
Deceased was ill about 3 months from a complication of diseases. The sickness started from an injury to her foot from stepping on the sharp prongs of a pitchfork. Gagnrene set in and wyphoid followed which hastened her death. She was of a very genial disposition and leaves many friends to mourn her demise.
