Vesta,

I have been researching Jeremiah Stansbury. There are two
Jeremiah1 born either NY, MD or Pa ca 1750 died 1826 in Tippecanoe County, IN. At time of death wife is Sarah.
Per civil court papers, he had known children Isaac, Jemima and Jesse. Isaac and Jemima both married Provolts. Jesse administrator of the estate, other two children deceased.
There is a Jeremiah2 who married in Ohio and died in Tippecanoe County IN in the spring of 1830. I believe him to be a grandson of Jeremiah1. From court papers found he can not be a son of Jeremiah1. I tend to believe he is the son of Jesse but not documented.
Jeremiah2 was married to Nancy Sargent. After his death she married Hugh Courtney and by 1841 moved to Lee County, Iowa. Guardianship papers for Jeremiah2's three children: Louisa, Elizabeth and Daniel are found in Tippecanoe County, IN. Daniel was born about 1827 IN and married in Iowa Margaret McKeehan and second Phebe Spray widow of William Wells. Daniel died in 1879 being killed by a bull.
