Dates in Starbuck's History of Nantucket
Posted by: Terri Nelson Date: December 22, 2001 at 14:19:17

I'm finding many different birth and death dates for Edward Starbuck of Nantucket Island and his descendants. One source I'm using for comparison is Alexander Starbuck's History of Nantucket. He often give dates in the form "6th 6 mo. 1719." Can anyone tell me for certain whether or not he is using the Quaker calendar? It appears that most people are translating "6th 6 mo." to mean June 6th. I'm totally confused!
