Starbucks and James gang

I have heard from my older brother that at one time one of my Starbuck ancesters were freinds with and/or helped supply fresh horses for the James gang. But, he cannot remember where he heard it. I have not been able to find anything on this. Any info agreeing with or disputing this will be greatly appreciated.
I also am looking for info on my grandmother, Birdie Mae (Cox) Starbuck, 1891-1975 and her ancestors. Her husband was William Austin Starbuck,1883-1962. They lived in sw MO. And are buried in Sheldon, MO. Thanks!
