Hi Kay,

The reason why they were never married was because he was already married to Nancy Simmons and another reason was it had to do with the fact that she was Indian. Also since her being a "woman",and Indain and since she was pregant by married man so what he done was pawn her off on Larken French to cover what he was doing.

Actually it was William Starbuck who that was falsely accused of killing a man,The man he killed was soppose to be His brother-in-law William Wright over a property dispute and I guess he thought he killed him so went to Garvin,Tx for a couple of years then came back to Tenn before 1870.

I don't believe it's true because I have record of William Wright's dates.

I do know that William Starbuck and Larken French were charged with assault this was propally after the War when this happen I have record of his War Papers were he deserted the army.

As far as Commodore he was working for the post office and and he was sleeping with one of the farmers wife and he caught them and I believe he killed them both.I don't know what their names were or where this exactly happen at.
