Eva, thank you for responding to my message. The reason for my post was that I have been attempting to identify the line of a James William Stateler. He was the second husband of my wife's paternal grandmother, one Jessie Maude (Perry) Shelby. Maude, as she was known, was first married in Indiana to Eli Roscoe Shelby.

James William Stateler has proven difficult to trace. He was born in 1886 in Illinois. He died in 1942 in Illinois and is buried aside Maude in the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, Danville, Vermilion County, Illinois. These two had no issue. That is all I know about him. I am working on a manuscript for my wife's lineage and wanted to include more about James William Stateler's lineage.

The message to which you responded was a shot in the dark. Does this James William Stateler ring any bells for you?

Again, I appreciate your effort in my behalf. Thank you.
