John Staylor was a "victualler" and butcher. He owned businesses in Fredericksurg and Baltimore, where he was a "defender of the city" during the War of 1812. He was born about 1790 in MD and died on 26 April 1862 in Baltimore MD. His wife, Mary, was born in 1792 in Maryland. She died on 15 March 1860 in Baltimore. In the 1850 Maryland census, Staylor was listed as Stalor.
I am interested in sharing information on the Staylor and Courtney families of Virginia and Maryland.
