Elizabeth Steed b. 1782 (d. of Philemon Steed)

We have identified an Elizabeth Steed, born around 1780 in South Carolina, as the wife of Joab Lawrence. I was wandering it this happens to be the same Elizabeth Steed who is listed as the daughter of Philemon Steed.

Joab was born in the Abbeville District of South Carolina around 1775, moved to Fayette County Georgia between 1800-1807. He had his first child in Georgia in 1807, so was probably married before then. He and his family then moved to Alabama in 1813, where they lived until he and Elizabeth died sometime after 1850.

I would be interested in talking to anyone who has any information on the Philemon Steed or Elizabeth Steed to try to see if we could clearly make a connection.

I can be reached at Ruslan007@aol.com

Thanks.
