Marie, I was wondering what nationality your husband says Stefanik is.I have seen it spelled Stephanik/Stefaniak/
and as ours...Stefnik. I think it is pronounced StenANYak in Slovac. Most of the people in East Vandergrift were either Slovac/Lithoanian or Polish. Most came from Galecia and from what I read of Galecia many were jewish. What are your thoughts. I know of a Michael/Catherine/John who were older than my husband's father (born 1895 in Apollo,Pa)
who lived there and worked in the steele mills. What year was your husband's father born and was he born in US? Some Stefanik's have asked about Cleveland. My husband's mother used to travel to Cleveland once in a while because there were relatives there. I know Adelbert had a sister in Pittsburgh. Just wondering about the nationality. It seems to be the same name, spelled many different ways but where it originated, I don't know for sure. The name comes from the name Stephen. Pat
