GenerationUSA+1:I...I...I...I...I...I...I...I...IChildren of Johann William (John William) BUTZ
____-1775 and Maria Magdalena KURTZ 1748-____:
// NOTE: It used to be the custom that if one child was born and was named for example Anna or
John that if that child died at an early age and before the next child was born then the next child
would be named Anna if a female or John if a male.Considering that there are 2 Annas and 3 Johns
in this J.W.BUTZ/M.KURTZ family then it is possible that the first or even both Annas died young
(and no further females were born to whom to give the name Anna) and the first 2 of the 3 Johns died
as infants or young children. The third John (Henry) did live and had about 19 children with 2 wives.
A Bible is on the Internet on www GenForum com under BUTTS listing him and his family. It is
UNKNOWN at this point if any or all of the Annas and the first 2 Johns did die as infants/young children
but, if no further records are found then this explanation could be possible.MM VONVILLE20JUN2007 //

Most info is from Goshenhoppen Catholic Records which are in German, there are some English translations available thru a web search under Goshenhoppen, PA Catholic Records both for different "missions" out of Philadelphia, PA and a Catholic priest who married many of the Goshenhoppen German families, some who were part of the HASENCLEVER GERMANS who immigrated to the iron works in Ringwood, Passaic County, New Jersey, USA.The iron works were not managed well and 2 BUTZ men, possibly brothers, Johan William (John William) and Christian BUTZ, took a group to Berks County, PA to work and iron works and built their own at Upper Mount Pleasant which was sold about 1777 because of the economic upheaval after the American War for Independence from the British empire.
