Got to do some Genealogy in Tuscarawas County, Ohio yesterday. I did find an Adam Steffy in the deed book. An Adam Steffy had 2 deeds filed; No. 1 1840 adam Steffy, from Sam Galbraith, S1/2, NE1/4, NW1/4 Sec. 12. Vol. 23, Page 588, Range 1, Twp.5, Sec. 12, 20 acres. No. 2, 1846, Adam Steffey from James Horn, East side NW1/4, NW1/4, Sec 12, Vol.23, Page 606, Range 1, Twp 5, Sec. 12, 20 acres. The 1840 deed was witnessed in the presents of Solomon Steffy. What was interesting to me is that Steffy is spelled 3 different ways, and 2 different spellings were on the 1846 deed. Steffy, Steffey, and Steffee.
