Sorry, nothing in the "Steffeys In America" book by Marguerite Steffey Snyder, regarding a George Wampler & the only reference to an Elizabeth Steffey is on pg.53 Chapter IX Prarie Years:

"I find the following listed in the 1850 census:

William Steffa, 53, Wf. Elizabeth, 54, born Md.
Children: Soloman, 21, Matilda 18, Mary 16, Hannah 12."

"Also listed were J.L. Wallace, 43, and William Wallace, 40, who could be the sons of Elizabeth Steffey, who married William "Wallis" in Washington County in 1804."

Good luck to you.
Bobbi Harrison
