Dear Pam:

Thanks for your note. You asked, "Would you have any information about the parents of George Killinger? Was he born in Virginia or is he the George Killinger who emigrated from Pennsylvania?"

George was the son of Jacob Killinger (1709-1779) and his wife (Jacob's) was Anna Katherine. I have the names of four children: George, Andrew, Peter & Michael. George stated in an application for pension that he left all of his discharge papers in the possession of father when he moved to Washington County (now Smyth County), Virginia.
I am in the process of proving a Supplemental Application for SAR as a Revolutionary War veteran. He has been proved for SAR and I am checking to see on SAR.

Someone stated that, "Jacob emigrated to the US from Germany on the ship Robert and Alice and arrived in Philadelphia on 9/30/1743. We believe that he came from Bavaria." I have not proved any of this yet.

I hope this helps. Take care and have a good week.

Gerald Steffy
