Hi Mic,
Do you have any information on the Steffeys/Steffe/Steffy/Steffan's that started in Pa. and maybe stayed in Pa. We are from the Steffy's from Lancaster and Lebanon Co. Pa. We still live in Lancaster Co. Pa. I have a Daniel Steffe that I see listed on various web sites as born 1815 and died 1872, buried in Brickerville, Lanc. Co. pa. I have seen his grave stone and he is buried in the Brickerville Emanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery but he was born 1800 and died 1872. He is buried with his wife, listed only as Susanna. Do you perhaps have any information on him? I'm wondering if maybe his father was Abraham Steffey and his mother Elizabeth Remp? I thought maybe George and Dorthea, and even maybe a Frederick Steffey. In various Church records here their last names are spelled so many different ways at the same church, but for different documentation. For instance baptisms for their children. When listed the various ministers spell it differently on the records. The same people will have their names spelled many different ways. In the Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery there is also a Richard Steffe born 1827, married to Maria Goshard. I also wonder if this is one of Daniel and Susanna's children. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Cindy Steffy
