Dear Janie, thanks for the info. I have a question for you, perhaps you've heard this story. My brother in law insists the family is part indian through the Etter line. He says that John and Christina had an oldest(unnamed)son who ran away to the indians and returned later with an infant son named Rufus. John and Christina had the child baptised at the local church and raised the child as their own. It is supposedly this Rufus Etter that married Marian Bean. I personally do not believe this story, but wondered if you had come across is while on your searches.
