Samuel Steffy, b. 19 May 1831 in Ohio, served in Civil War, 161st Regiment, Ohio Infantry. Married Ruth Worrall 23 April 1864, Athens, OH. Parents Joseph and Hannah Steffy. Christened 24 July 1831, Alegheny Ref. Church, Berks, PA. He died 10 July 1896 at home of his son, Oren Steffy, in Carbondale, Osage County, KS. He was buried in Valley Brook Cemetery, 4 miles south of Overbrook, Osage County, KS where he has lain without a tombstone since that time. Recently a stone was ordered and set by Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War camp of Lawrence, KS. A dedication ceremony will be held for him and two other Civil War veterans on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the cemetery.

Does anyone know of any living descendant/descendants of Sameul Steffy? I am the secretary of the Valley Brook Cemetery Board, and a historian.
