I once had a friend of mine, from Germany, who explained it to me as if Emmental was the part of the town, Affoltern was the town or area, and Canton Bern was the county. I may be wrong but I think his father taught in Sunsiwald or that was the 'next door' part of town where he was babtized or something like that. If any one truly understands this part of Micheal's birth, please feel free to explain further.
