Like I said you are not alone in researching this family. I found an obit for you:

North Bangor
Death of Oldest Resident

In the death of Emanuel Steenberge, which occurred at his home in this village last Thursday morning, North Bangor has lost its oldest resident. Mr. Steenberge had reached the advanced age of 99 years. He was born in Alburgh, Vt., Oct. 4th, 1815, but made his home in this vicinity while it was yet a wilderness. At an early age he married Miss Sarah Wiley, and six sons and one daughter were born to them. A few years after her death he married Mrs. F. Adelia Wilcox. Besides his widow, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Laura Dutton, of Vermont, and four sons, Benjamin of Norwood, Artemus, of Winthrop, and Foster and William, of this place. When quite young he embraced the Christian faith and by his true consistent life had ever been an inspiration to all who knew him. The funeral was held Friday afternoon at the M. E. church, and the remains were taken to Stockholm for burial.
