Hi Sue. No these names are not familiar but your husbands first name John and second name Joseph are very common in the Steinmetz families. I have seen many on my side and my family came from Alsase-Lorraine region of Germany-France. It was a border township and Alsase was in Germany and Lorraine was in France. the area is also known as the river Rhine basin because it was a farming area along the river. The ruling kings back in those day fought for land control so it was a shifting area. It was a very religious area and most all were Catholics hence the apostle name of St. John and St. Joseph the father of Jesus. I will keep looking for your names as we go along this genealogy highway and I will post something if I find it. If you want to e mail me directly it is copaw4346@aol.com Good luck my friend. Colin Werner
