English is easier for me too, but I think my spelling has now started to deteriorate in english too. I really have not done any research yet. I do have a book that Beatrix Larson wrote call "Steinmetz Steps". She is a very nice lady and I think she put a lot of work into this book. I have seen a message string with this book listed in the message title. That person mentioned that there are a lot of inaccuracies in the book. That leaves me a little uncertain about the information. The book does list the ancester that I mentioned in the first note. It also mentions that he had 5 children and it follows the decendants of one of the sons that was born in 1729. Unfortunately it is not the branch that has your wife`s ancester. Of the 5 children, the 3rd child was the oldest son and it is possible he could be your wife's ancester. He was Peter Philipp baptized 2 July, 1722 born in Esens Germany. This is a long shot and that would make him a little young to be having a son in 1739. Sorry I don`t have any first hand information, Jeff
