I am seeking the home town in Germany of Peter Steinmetz. He was born in the then-called region of Kurpfalz, Germany. The town is listed as Heimarg, but I have not been able to find any such town listed in atlases, maps or on the web. Peter was born in 1723, married Anna Elisabeth ?, born 1730. They emigrated to Russia on the ship "Merkury" in 1766, landing in Oranienbaum (near St. Petersburg) and settled in Dietel on the Volga River(several spellings on this, prounonced deetle)in 1767. I have the whole family chart of hundreds of people from then on, but would like to know from whence he came. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thank you, Laura Steinmetz
