Dear William,
My name is Nana Seiring, and I am looking for any information on a Karl Friedrich von Steinmetz. He was born on Dec. 27, 1796 in Eisenach, Germany. His neice/ward, Hermena was the wife of my husband's Greatgrandfather. I can't seem to find anything more about Gen. von Steinmetz or Hermena.
August Seiring and Hermena had a few children, but Charles E. Seiring was born, supposedly, in Essen, Germany, before the family moved to Pittsburgh in the mid 1800's, as August Seiring was brought over to work as an electrician in the Pittsburgh Steel Mills.
If you have any info on this family, or if you know of anyone who may have any info, PLEASE let me know, but you will have to send any info to my snail mail address, as my printer is not set up as yet. It is Nana Seiring, 120 Dale Dr., Georgetown, Ky. 40324.
Thanks to you or to anyone who may have any info on General Karl Friedrich von Steinmetz and/or August and Hermena Seiring....I don't know Hermena's maiden name or when or where she was born or where she and August Seiring were married.
