Looking for information on the George (b. 1802 in Alsace, Fr) and Magdalene Steinmetz (b. 1814) family of Indiana. They emigrated to the USA around 1855 from Havre, Fr and arrived in New Orleans and settled in Indiana.
Their children were George (b. 10/1836 in Alsace), Josephine (b. 3/1836 in Alsace), and Aurelia (b. 5/31/1841 in Alsace).
George married Katherina Schanuth (b. 2/1848 in MO) and they had 19 children in MO.
Josephine married Christian Mangold (b. 9/1830 in Wurttenburg, Ger) and they had 7 children in IN.
Aurelia married Henry Throm (b. 1830 in Weitersweiler, Bavaria, Ger) on 5/9/1859 and they had 11 children in Spades, IN.
I have tried to find out more information about Geprge and Magdalene Steinmetz but have had no luck. Any help would be appreciated. I am a descendent of the Aurelia Steinmetz-Henry Throm line and would be happy to share whatever I know.
