:-) It's my gut feeling, though I don't have proof yet, that the English Stell's were originally French. I read a posting that the bunch of Huguenots that included Poncet Stell left France and went to England, then to the colonies. Some of them may have stayed awhile. If it's true that Michael Stell was the ancestor (father, was it?) of Poncet Stell, then that ties them together, because I'm following a family line that goes John Stell, Jr. (the immigrant that married Sussanah Malone), John Joseph Stell, Michael Stell, all born in Keighley, Yorkshire Co., England.
