Capt. Thomas JONES, rev war officer, died 25 Feb. 1785, Newberry, and was
survived
by wife, Catherine (LITTLETON) JONES, and children: Joseph, John, Litten, Thomas,
and Elizabeth ... who all removed to Hancock Co., GA.
His daughter, Elizabeth Jones, was born ca. 1768-73, Newberry, and married ca.
1789, prob. Newberry, Robert STELL, son of John and Susannah (MALONE) STELL,
who was born 4 Mar. 1767, Newberry, and died 2 Sep. 1814, Morgan Co., GA.
Their daughter, Elizabeth STELL, was born ca. 1793, Hancock Co., GA, and died 26
Apr. 1873, Rapides Par., LA. She married 27 Jan. 1811,Hancock Co. or Morgan Co.,
GA, James FLETCHER (first sheriff of Henry Co., GA), son ofRobert and Christian
(FEBIGER) FLETCHER, who was born ca. 1785-90, prob. Augusta Co., VA, and died 9
Jan. 1827, Henry Co., GA. Susannah (MALONE) STELL was the daughter of Robert
Malone (1705-1779) of Newberry, and had these siblings:
Elizabeth MALONE;
John MALONE;
Sarah (Malone) Swyer;
Robert MALONE et ux Mary HAYES;
Mary Nancy (MALONE) Nance et vir Giles NANCE of Newberry;
Martha (MALONE) THOMPSON; and
Frances MALONE.
Of these, Giles and Mary Nancy (MALONE) NANCE had Cloe (NANCE) MITCHELL;
Elizabeth (NANCE) CRENSHAW; Mary (NANCE) YOUNG; William
MALONE; Giles MALONE Jr.; Frederick MALONE; James MALONE; Clement MALONE;
and Robert MALONE.
