My greatgrandfater
Madison (Mat) Preston-48 married Elizabeth ( Betty) Smith-34 Jan 22, 1921, Martin Co- both were widowed
Parents of wife- William Blankenship and Nancy.

Betty Blankenship-18 married Isaac Smith 28 Sept. 15,, 1904, Martin Co. Betty's father -Wm Blankenship.
Issac's parents - Samuel Smith and Lydie Blankenship

On 1930 Census

Next househild - Bettie Preston 43(Widow), children Dixie 8, Jay 6, and Joseph Smith 18

1920 Census
Wm Blankenship 58, Lydia 53-wife and Joseph Smith 7 -
Another household- Elizabeth Smith 33, widow, servant

1910 Census
Wm Blankenship 50, Lydia 44, wife

1900 Census
Wm Blankenship 39, Lydia 34 wife Married 13 years and Lydia as given birth to 5 children. There are 7 children listed as children of Wm. , There is an Elizabeth 14 listed.

1880 Census
Samuel Smith 42, Lyda 30 with a son Issac 4

May 21, 1887 a WM. Blankenship married a Lydia Stepp in Martin Co in the Presence of J. Stepp and wife_?__ Stepp.

1880 census
Samuel Smith 42, Lyda 30 wife with a son Isaac 4

Another household
James Stepp, Mary wife and a child Lydia 14

My questions are:
Does anyone know name of Betty Blankenship's mother Nancy?
Apparently Wm was married twice- 1st to a Nancy and 2nd to a Lydia.
Is the Issac in the 1880 census the same Isaac that married my Betty Blankenship?
Were there 2 different Lydias in this confusion/ Or was the same Lydia married 1st to A Samuel Smith and then to Wm Blankenship? Was she Lydia Stepp? If there were 2 different Lydias anyone know maiden names?

Maybe there was a mistake in the mariage license of Isaac Smith and Betty Blankenship, and the name Lydia Blankenship should have been listed as mother of Betty. Or maybe at time of marriage,if there was only one Lydia, she had remarried to Wm Blankenship.
If anyone can shed some light, thanks
