My Wells and Stepps don't go together, but I have both in my line. I'd be curious about any information on the Wells in Texas. I only go as far back as my great grandfather, William Marion Wells, who came from Tennessee to Texas. I think he may have had a brother named John. I know one of his brothers was Rufus Wells, incarcerated in Huntsville for a few years from a knife fight in a saloon. I've never found anything else. I descend from John "Jack" Stepp and Jane Dickens. Any connection?

Karen
