I was given tons of information about certain lines on my paternal side that lead back to Abraham and Joshua Stepp. The Stepps are pretty far back on my research path, but I am very interested in them. I am deeply interested in all of my lineage. It's fascinating to think that I exist due the millions of choices, mistakes, and triumphs of my ancestors.

According to the information I received my line is:

Alley Ledford m. Jannie Stepp (B. 1823) Harlan Co., Kentucky
D/O Robert Stepp b. 1795 m. Rachel Beddingfield b. 1796
S/O John Stepp b. 1776 and Rebecca Kuykendal
S/O James Stepp Jr. b. 1754 m. Marry Polly Mills b. 1754
S/O James Stepp Sr. b. 1733 m. Lucy Gholston
S/O John Stepp b. 1716 m. Ann Salmon
S/O Joshua Stepp b. 1688 m. Martha Coffee
S/O Abraham Stepp b. 1650 m. Dorothy Moss
S/O John Stepp

The researcher who found this information claims that the first Stepp in America was a British Soldier who came to guard the colonies and decided to stay.

I was actually visiting the Stepp message board today in hopes of finding out information about Rachel Beddingfield. I don't have any information on any of the Stepp wives!

I can not afford DNA testing to prove any or all of my ancestry at the present moment, but it is something I would love to do in the future. Is there a DNA can trace every line instead of having to repeat it for each ancestrial line?

I didn't know your website existed until today, but I can't wait to look at it.
