Hi Julie:

Yes, her family name was really Lnu. Odd, isn't it? As it happens, the Lnu family continued to marry into various Stetson branches for several subsequent generations. Thus far, I have been unable to track anything down about the Lnu family. I wonder what nationality it is????

A friend of mine in England recently informed me that the parish records for Modbury do not go any earlier than 1540 or thereabouts....which makes tracking that original John Stetson a bit difficult.

Modbury neighbors Plymouth in South Hamms....so it makes sense that Cornet Robert would have resurfaced in America as an early Plymouth settler.

Best regards,

Katherine Stetson (formally of Duxbury, MA)
