Have not given dates as they changed on these 2 records.
The LEONA STEWARD (above) may have been born 10 Feb. 1874 - Laurens County, GA.
The wife of RILEY STEWARD - Nancy - may have been a BRANTLEY/although I have seen no actual proof of her last name.
The VIRGIL - listed as male in 1870 census - is shown as a female - VIRGIE - in the 1880 GA census.
My great grandmother was VIRGINIA PERMELIA FLORENCE STEWARD, b. 4 August, 1868 d. 24 May, 1936. She married Henry Jordan Thomas (1869-1905) on 1 Dec. 1887/Laurens County, GA.
The "VIRGIE" (female) as listed in the 1880 GA census, is listed in that record as being born in 1868. (Is "VIRGIE" my VIRGINIA P.F. STEWARD?)
On the 1870 and the 1880 GA census - the last name is spelled STEWARD...but I have also seen my great grandmother's name spelled as "STEWART." (?)
I will appreciate any assistance anyone can render...this is one of my "brick walls" and I am hoping someone will be able to aid me in this search.
