Mary -

You are correct that Jenette Etta V. is the daughter of James Riley Teague and Mary Peacock. Elijah Alford Steward/Stewart is the son of John Mathias Stewart and Mary A. Gandy. Elijah and Jenette were married on March 8, 1888, in Blount County, Alabama. I have the family on the Blount County censuses for 1870 and 1880. I understand that the John M. and Mary A. moved to Somervell County, Texas, in the 1890's and Elijah moved on to Washita County in the late 1890's. I have him on the Washita County censuses for 1900, 1910, and 1920.

I descend from Elijah and Jenette's daughter Mary Tina, who was born on March 16, 1898, in Cloud Chief.

I am about 90+ percent sure that John Mathias Stewart's parents are Joseph Stewart and Mary Shaffer, who were married in Blount County on April 14, 1824. I lose Joseph after the 1840 census and assume he probably died before the 1850 census. I first have John by name on the 1860 census for Walker County, Alabama, but have not been able to find the 1850 census linking him to his parents.
