Albert Steward / Abb Steward / Fate Steward

My great great grandfather was Albert Steward, or so I believe. I have been told by my aunts and uncles that his name was Fate Steward, but never seen any hard evidence proving that he was named Fate. I recently ran across some old papers that listed him as Albert. He is listed in the book "The Duke Family" as Abb Steward. I have very successfully tracked the other branches of my family tree, but this roadblock on my Steward side has made it impossible to move up the tree. He married Frances Farnell and had only one child: William James Steward. The story is told in my family that he ran off after William was born. Frances rarely spoke of him, except that he might have gone back to Shreveport, LA. They lived in either west Lousiana or east Texas. If your tree shows any indication of this man, please let me know! I have searched relentlessly for him. I know that somehow I am related to all of you, but I just can't find the connection! Frances Farnell was born in 1880 if that is any help to determining his possible birth and death dates. That is all of the information I have to go by! Thanks for any and all help ya'll can offer!
