At last, someone within the same gene pool! The STEWARD line is a tough one as there are so many.....
I had some family tradition on paper that talked about a Captain James STEWARD of the War 1812.. no wife mentioned, and three children: Nancy Jane (or Mary Jane), Henry, and James. The story said that Henry's wife was "sickly" and they had no children, but lived in Indiana (in later years). Nancy Jane never married and lived with her brother Henry. James (Jr.?)who was born in 1816 in Ohio (where?)[ I have some information on James and children and I would be happy to share]
Your Nancy.... any birth information? date? place? Anything on Captain James? You mentioned Ft. Recovery, Ohio. Was that because he was in the service and stationed there or did he live in that town?
I am so close to breaking this line wide open and just need some new angles. This is why your reply was so exciting.
