don't know if this will help any. My wife's grandfather was John H. Allen. In an interview, he stated that of his graduation class, supposedly from Davidson College that only three members still survived,,,one was a James Steward. a farmer in Brazil...the other was George Morrow, a farmer in South Carolina,,,John was born in NC, but married and had two children born in South Carolina, I believe that James was probably from SC and went to Brazil after the was. Morrow stayed in SC, John went first to MIss. then to Ark. I cannot find a record of any of the three, going to Davidson College.
They were all three supposedly in the Civil War.
