Hi John
I am interested in the Steward's of Indiana. I found my Great Grandfather' marriage record dated 3 Mar. 1846 to Cassie A Parker. On this record she is spelled as Kassie A. Parker. On all others it is with a C. He is W. R. Steward.
On the 1850 Census of Indiana (Jackson Co) Cassie is living with her parents, Ezekiel and Sally Parker. She has a yound son William A. Steward. This is my Grandfather. Now I need to know who the Parents are of W. R. Steward. It is said that he was a singing school teacher and was killed by a run-a-way horse and buggy. It turned the buggy over and pined him between it and a tree. This was told to my Mother as a young girl. Does anyone know who the parents of W.R. Steward was? He was a singing school teacher and was on his way to teach when he was killed.
