There is a 50-50 chance that your JAMES may be my ggf JAMES STEWARD b. about 1810 in Mississippi, He had a brother John, but dont know about the middle name "Curtis." They went on to fight in San Jacinto and the Mexican war where James was wounded. He did not fight in the Civil War.
James died around 1875 somewhere in Arkansas. John I dont know. What do you think... any possibilities here? if so send me a email.
