I have an interest in Sarah Machin and her daughters (Sarah) Caroline St. George, wife of Charles Pitchforth; Charlotte St. George and Elizabeth Eleanor St. George; and the Machin surname since I found my relative Sabra Cockrill/Cockerill named in the will of an Elizabeth Grocock who died in March, 1826 in Finchley, England. The will is dated 15 November 1824.
Lawsuit is Cockerill v. Pitchforth 1845
My relative, Thomas Cockrill is contesting the will.
They wrote: Upon Mrs. Cockerill’s death, her husband instituted this suit against the trustees and Tomlinson, requiring the transfer of the fund to himself, alleging that the clause in the will directing the share or proportion of his wife to be for her separate use, &c., was applicable to her share in the real estate only.
